The Ikigai team participated in a three-day workshop organized within the framework of the “Rural Community ADAPTs to Natural Forest Fires!” (ForestAdapt) project.
ForestAdapt, an adult education project on the adaptation of rural communities to natural forest fires, is funded by the European Commission. The NGO ASCAE hosted the three-day workshop in Potenza (Italy) from October 3-5.
The partnership is formed by the coordinator Asociatia grupul de actiune locala Napoca Porolissum (Romania) and 4 other organizations Instituto IKIGAI (Spain), ASCAE – Associazione per il sociale la cultura e l’ambiente (Italy), Grupo de actiune local Balchik – General Toshevo (Bulgaria) and Asociatia Salvamont salvaspeo vladeasa cluj (Romania).

During the three-day meeting in Potenza, the partners from these 4 Countries met to discuss the next steps for the implementation of the project and to finalize the local adaptation plan and the planning of the next steps.
ASCAE organized a round table with representatives of the local Fire Brigade, the Carabinieri Forestali, the Department of Agriculture and Forestry and the University of Basilicata.

Representatives from each organization participating in the project attended, as well as one or two firefighters from their countries.
