It was precisely in Bursa (Turkey), that the fourth project training, organized by Igea, took place last week (15-21 July). Six participants from Spain took part in the activities proposed by the Turkish partners to enhance their skills in waste management. Among them, we asked Sofia, one of the participants from Spain, to tell us what her experience was like.
“The first three days consisted of training sessions where the host organization presented the main topics of the workshop and encouraged us to debate on them,” said Sofia. The whole project training was based on both passive and active learning; actually, the last activity was a role play where the participants, divided into two teams, had to analyze if the waste disposal of a specific kind of waste (like food waste, or e-waste) has been well or badly managed in a specified municipality. At the end of the simulation, the participants were supposed to comment on it and exchange their points of view or experience on the theme.
“This experience was very formative and it was a pity that the time was so short. These are very important topics nowadays and we should talk about them more often and explore them in depth. In fact, I think the most interesting aspect of participating in this workshop was precisely the comparison with others and the exchange of perspectives. ”
