Erasmus+ Youth Exchange

Youth for Well-Being is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project focused on mental health, emotional well-being, self-care, and mutual support among young Europeans. The initiative brings together young people from Poland, Spain, Italy, and Hungary around a shared need: to create safe spaces where they can talk about well-being, share experiences, and learn practical tools to take care of their mental health.
The project responds to an increasingly visible reality among young people: many face stress, insecurity, social pressure, low self-esteem, or difficulties in managing their emotional well-being. Through participatory activities and non-formal education methodologies, Youth for Well-Being aims to reduce the stigma around mental health and share a clear message: asking for help is not a weakness, but a strength.
The project also pays special attention to digital well-being, recognising the impact that time online, social media, and digital habits can have on young people’s self-esteem, daily life, and emotional balance.
Project objectives
The main objective of Youth for Well-Being is to raise awareness among participants about the mental health challenges faced by young people in Europe and to provide them with useful tools to care for their emotional well-being.
The project aims to equip young people with practical strategies such as mindfulness, sports, creative expression, and peer support. These tools will help participants improve their resilience, strengthen their self-confidence, and develop a more conscious attitude towards self-care and caring for others.
Another key objective is to create an international “well-being toolkit” designed by young people themselves, including ideas, methods, and resources that they can later share in their schools, communities, and local organisations.
Youth for Well-Being also promotes solidarity and mutual support among young people from different countries, creating an international environment for learning, coexistence, and intercultural exchange.
How is Youth for Well-Being implemented?
Youth for Well-Being is implemented through non-formal education activities, group dynamics, reflection spaces, intercultural learning, and collaborative work.
During the international mobility in Lębork, Poland, participants will work on topics related to mental health, self-esteem, resilience, digital well-being, creative expression, sports, and peer support strategies. This experience will allow participants to share their realities, discover new perspectives, and build common tools to promote youth well-being.
The project also includes an eco-friendly approach, encouraging small sustainable actions during the activities, such as using reusable mugs and choosing more environmentally responsible travel options whenever possible.
After the international experience, participants will also play an active role in disseminating the project through online and offline activities, with the aim of transferring the knowledge and learning outcomes to their local communities.
Participants and organisations
Youth for Well-Being involves young people from Poland, Spain, Italy, and Hungary. The group is mainly composed of young people aged 16 to 22, accompanied by group leaders who support the learning and group process.
The participating organisations are:
Poland: Fundacja Youth in Motion
Spain: Instituto Ikigai
Italy: River APS
Hungary: Student Forum
The project pays particular attention to the inclusion of young people from rural areas and NEET backgrounds, ensuring that people with fewer opportunities are placed at the centre of the experience.
Expected results
Youth for Well-Being aims to strengthen participants’ personal, social, and emotional competences. Through the project, young people will acquire practical tools to manage stress, improve their self-esteem, reinforce their resilience, and support others in their communities.
One of the main results will be the creation of an international “well-being toolkit” developed by the participants themselves, with ideas and methods that can be used and shared in schools, communities, and youth organisations.
The project will also generate online and offline dissemination actions. Each participant will have the opportunity to share their experience and organise a local activity, such as a workshop, a presentation, a social media campaign, or another creative action to continue the impact of the project.
Impact
Youth for Well-Being contributes to promoting a more open, empathetic, and conscious youth culture around mental health. The project offers young people a safe space to talk, listen, learn, and build support networks based on trust and solidarity.
Through international cooperation, peer learning, and active participation, Youth for Well-Being helps young people understand that emotional well-being is a fundamental part of their personal, social, and community development.
Youth for Well-Being represents an opportunity to strengthen self-care, reduce stigma, and promote a more positive, inclusive, and participatory vision of mental health among European youth.
