Erasmus+ Youth Participation Activities
KA154-YOU-917D9B6A
Digital Youth Voices is an Erasmus+ Youth Participation Activities project focused on youth participation, media literacy, critical thinking, and young people’s democratic engagement. The initiative is coordinated by Gò Caro in Italy, with the participation of Instituto Ikigai in Spain and Logos Polska in Poland. The project will run for 12 months, from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.
The project responds to an increasingly urgent need: helping young people navigate a digital environment marked by misinformation, greenwashing, and information overload. At the same time, Digital Youth Voices aims to support young people in moving from awareness to meaningful action, creating spaces where they can express their ideas, engage in dialogue with decision-makers, and develop their own initiatives linked to sustainability and democratic life.
Through local and international activities, the project supports young people from Italy, Spain, and Poland in acquiring tools to identify false information, critically analyse environmental messages, and actively participate in their communities.
Project objectives
The main objective of Digital Youth Voices is to strengthen youth participation in democratic life by empowering young people from Italy, Spain, and Poland to engage in civic, social, and environmental issues.
The project aims to improve young people’s media literacy and critical thinking skills, helping them identify misinformation, verify sources, and recognise greenwashing practices.
It also seeks to create youth-led participatory spaces where young people can design and implement activities for their peers, share their views, and turn their ideas into concrete actions.
Another key objective is to foster structured dialogue between young people and decision-makers at local and European level, strengthening the presence of youth voices in public debates.
The project also pays particular attention to the inclusive participation of young people with fewer opportunities, including migrants, rural youth, and those facing barriers to accessing participation spaces.
How is Digital Youth Voices implemented?
Digital Youth Voices combines one international mobility activity with local activities in the three participating countries.
The project includes a study visit in Padova focused on sustainability-related misinformation and youth participation. This experience will allow participants to share learning, explore good practices, and strengthen their competences to act as changemakers in their communities.
At local level, workshops and labs will be organised on media literacy, critical thinking, fact-checking, and civic action design. These activities will help young people learn how to analyse digital content, detect fake news, and develop campaigns or initiatives related to sustainability and democratic participation.
The project will also include participatory activities such as the Fact-Check Lab: Spot the Fake!, the Eco-Quiz Show: Truth or Fake?, the Hackathon: Youth for Truth, and final youth participation events in Italy, Spain, and Poland.
Participants and organisations
Digital Youth Voices will involve around 400 young people aged 18 to 30, including migrants, rural youth, and young people with fewer opportunities. Each partner organisation will send participants to the transnational activities, while local events will involve groups of 15 to 30 young people.
The participating organisations are:
Italy: Gò Caro
Spain: Instituto Ikigai
Poland: Stowarzyszenie Projektow Miedzynarodowych Logos Polska
The project creates a space for transnational cooperation where young people from different backgrounds can learn together, share experiences, and develop common strategies to address misinformation and environmental challenges.
Expected results
Digital Youth Voices aims to strengthen young people’s competences in critical thinking, media literacy, civic participation, and ecological activism.
Through the project, participants will learn to identify misinformation, analyse environmental narratives, detect greenwashing, and create clearer, more responsible, and evidence-based messages.
The project will also lead to youth-led campaigns, workshops, civic actions, and proposals, connecting sustainability with democratic participation.
In addition, dialogue spaces with decision-makers will help give greater visibility to young people’s ideas and concerns in local, national, and European debates.
Impact
Digital Youth Voices contributes to shaping young people who are more critical, informed, and committed to democratic life. The project not only offers tools to better understand the information circulating in media and social networks, but also encourages young people to take action, propose solutions, and participate in the transformation of their communities.
Through cooperation between Italy, Spain, and Poland, the initiative strengthens peer learning, European solidarity, and the creation of youth networks committed to sustainability, democracy, and inclusion.
Digital Youth Voices represents an opportunity for young people to move from being passive recipients of information to becoming active protagonists of change, using their voices to build more critical, participatory, and sustainable communities.
