The PrideEDU project is at the forefront of promoting an inclusive and discrimination-free society, aimed primarily at LGBTQIA+ young people and their allies. This pioneering initiative is designed to encourage organisations and educators to catalyse change by advocating for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and combating persistent issues of intolerance and discrimination. PrideEDU is committed to creating an environment in which young people can thrive, free from prejudice, through innovative non-formal educational approaches.

Through a combination of expert sessions, workshops and a transnational event, the project aims to enlighten, engage and empower young people. Expected outcomes include enriched professional development for youth workers, strengthened strategies for youth participation, and a pronounced emphasis on LGBTQIA+ awareness and partnerships. Tangible outcomes encompass a comprehensive SWOT analysis manual, the development of inclusive educational materials and the establishment of a network dedicated to fostering understanding and respect.

PrideEDU is a collective effort, with key partners such as Le Girofard from France, INSTITUTO IKIGAI ASOCIACIÓN ESPAÑOLA PARA EL EMPRENDIMIENTO Y EL DESARROLLO PERSONAL Y PROFESIONAL, and ASOCIACION SOMOS LGTB+ ARAGON from Spain contributing their expertise. This collaboration underlines the inclusive spirit of the project and its commitment to a broad impact, going beyond the immediate stakeholders to influence society’s attitudes towards LGBTQIA+ issues.

Objectives:

• To promote understanding and empathy towards the LGBTQIA+ community among young people, educators and society at large.
• Combat intolerance and discrimination through innovative non-formal education, leveraging both face-to-face and digital platforms.
• Empower young people, especially those who identify with or support the LGBTQIA+ community, to become advocates for inclusion and diversity.
• To foster a European network of educators and organisations committed to LGBTQIA+ rights and inclusion.

Project results (PrideEDU results):

• Creation and dissemination of a SWOT analysis handbook for educators, collecting best practices in LGBTQIA+ inclusive education.
• Conducting expert-led sessions and interactive workshops, culminating in increased awareness and understanding of LGBTQIA+ issues.
• A transnational event aimed at consolidating the network of young people and educators, promoting shared learning and collective action.
• Development and implementation of awareness campaigns that amplify the voice of LGBTQIA+ youth and promote social change.

PrideEDU embarks on a transformative journey, aiming not only to educate, but to inspire action and foster a more inclusive, understanding and empathetic society. Through its holistic approach, the project aims to leave a lasting impact, laying the foundations for a future in which every individual, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, is valued and respected.
