Femin Ict
We contribute to a new project to feminise the ICT sector by supporting and encouraging more women to pursue ICT-related careers
This will be achieved mainly by providing support and training to the main target groups of the project:
– Employers (ICT sector companies), targeting top and middle management executives, legal and HR departments.
– ICT entrepreneurship support ecosystem, targeting incubator/accelerator management teams, mentors and coaches.
– Municipalities and prefectures, targeting policy makers and relevant recruitment committees.
– Individual women who want to enter or are already involved in the ICT sector.
The underlying idea of the project is that by training and supporting the wider ICT business ecosystem to adopt gender equality measures and offer services that respond to women’s needs, more women will be able to enter, stay or succeed in the ICT sector. Overall, the FEMIN-ICT project strives to make this idea of gender equality a reality and to achieve real visibility and empowerment of women in the ICT sector and in the digital economy, which in the long term will lead to economic growth and greater social progress.
THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT ARE:
– Promote equal participation, representation and treatment of women in ICT.
– Improve their access, employability and decrease drop-out rates.
The partnership is composed of Greece, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Cyprus, being our institution the only Spanish one among the partners.
