We are proud to share the incredible impact of our project Escape, which aimed at developing innovative training methodologies to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of young ex-prisoners. We have connected professionals from Spain, Italy, Romania, and Turkey, empowering them to deliver more effective counseling, which will help reduce recidivism and promote the successful reintegration of young people back into society. Through this project, we have:
-Developed a science-based methodology for spiritual counseling in all partner languages
-Collected best practices from European prisons and probation institutions
-Created online open-access tools for counselors and young ex-prisoners, offering long-term access to supportive materials.
To achieve the project’s goals and monitor its progress at every stage, we have organized several online meetings and the following in-person meetings, study visits in prisons in Turkey, Italy, Romania, and Spain.
With this project, we not only enhanced rehabilitation efforts in prisons but also promoted humanity, equity, and societal inclusion for vulnerable young people.
We would like to thank all our stakeholders in this journey, especially the Delegación de Pastoral Penitenciaria de Zaragoza.
Stay tuned for the follow-up project!
