Committed to international educational innovation, the Ikigai Institute actively participates in DELTA: Digital Empowering Learning Tools for Africa, an Erasmus+ CB-VET project designed to strengthen the vocational training sector in Ethiopia. Through a collaborative and adapted methodology, DELTA seeks to provide young Ethiopians with access to digital, entrepreneurial, and cross-cutting skills that will enable them to find sustainable employment and contribute to inclusive development.
The project, which will run from 2025 to 2027, focuses its efforts on the construction sector, one of the country’s key economic drivers. Coordination is being handled by Skill Up Srl (Italy), with the collaboration of Instituto Ikigai (Spain), FDRE TVET Institute (Ethiopia), Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (Ethiopia), OVID Academy, and OVID Construction (Ethiopia). The consortium brings together expertise in educational innovation, digital learning, entrepreneurship, and public-private collaboration.
The main activities of the project include:
-The joint design of a Digital Training Toolkit tailored to the needs of the sector.
-The exchange of 30 good practices between Europe and Ethiopia.
-The development of blended training modules on digital literacy, leadership, entrepreneurship, and occupational health and safety, also incorporating European values.
-The creation of a MOOC platform that will award micro-credentials aligned with DigiComp, EntreComp, and LifeComp.
–Training workshops, educational mobility experiences in Italy, and events to meet with key players in the sector to ensure impact and sustainability.
