Voice of Change (VOC) project fosters migrant and refugees’ girls’ understanding of the policymaking process, showing in practice how to engage in the democratic life of the EU and enabling them to make known and publicly exchange their views in all areas of Union action. This enables girls with migrant backgrounds to participate and impact change through engaging and taking part in EU policy matters and exposed to the policy making process in fostering their understanding and the practice of engaging in the democratic process of participating in EU engagements. This as well ensures fostering of active citizenship. By extent, this enables migrants and refugee girls to be active participants through their publicly displayed views in areas of all concern as far as the Union action is concerned.
The underlying importance of VOC towards migrants and refugee girls is that it empowers them to foster a sense of belonging where they are able to project their views and actively participate in decision-making processes related to women policies that has an impact in women migrant policy. In ensuring a broad and diverse representation, the importance of VOC projects a representation of the unique challenges and needs of girls with migratory backgrounds within the European Consultative Body for Migrant Girl Civic Engagement. VOC ensures concerned participants not only benefit from skills development in policy analysis, public speaking and benefit their engagement within the Consultative Body, but also are well trained with valuable leadership skills traits and able to assume the mantle of leadership roles. Networking and collaboration becomes an opportunity where valuable connections are built with various stakeholders that are involved in the policies concerning migration and policies at EU level. The importance of VOC above all gives an overview of the EU policies through engagements and discussions and will likely have an impact on the target group, policymakers, the consortium, and the broader public in the short, medium, and long terms.
The initiative aims to surpass the current state of affairs and contribute by making a valuable contribution to a society that is more inventive, fair, and inclusive.
